A: No, our relish is not hot. It has more of a tangy or zesty flavor, without the heat. You can taste it for yourself by ordering a jar online!

Q: What is in it?

A: Well, we're not going to give away ALL the ingredients, but More Than A Relish starts with garden fresh vegetables, including cabbage, onions, tomatoes, green peppers and hot peppers. You can get a sneak peek at some of the ingredients in a photo gallery of the team at work.

Q: Does it come in different sizes?

A: Not yet. We do anticipate offering additional sizes in the future.

Q: Does it come in different flavors or levels of spice?

A: Not at this time. However, we are open to trying new recipes and anticipate new variations in the future. For those desiring a hotter version of this product, please contact us about placing a special order..

Q: Is it homemade?

A: Yes, More Than A Relish is homemade using a 100-year-old recipe handed down through several generations. The ingredients are all natural and there are no additives or preservatives. We use only garden-fresh vegetables and our relish is canned the old fashioned way using time-tested techniques to maintain shelf life and flavor. Q: Does it have a lot of sugar?

A: No! In fact, not only does it have just 3 grams of sugar , but also only 3 grams of carbs. With just 10 calories per serving and no fat or cholesterol, what a great way to add flavor!

Q: What is the shelf life?

A: Virtually indefinitely. However, in time it will darken in color and we recommend use within 12 months.

Q: Why is it called More Than A Relish?

A: We named our company and product More Than A Relish for several reasons. The most obvious is that our relish really is more than a traditional relish and can be used as a flavor enhancer in many different dishes and formats. Our product really is more than it appears and the flavor lends itself well to many cooking scenarios.

Just like our relish is more than a topping for hot dogs, our company is more than a food producer. We are located in the Empowerment Zone in Norfolk, VA and the company was founded in part to serve a larger purpose. We strive to be a solution for communities as we grow. For example, we hire people who are more at-risk for traditional employment offerings, getting them involved with a sense of purpose and giving them a reason to come to work each day. For our employees, it is more than just a job -- we provide mentoring, grounding, social awareness and the opportunity to see their efforts benefit the local community. A percentage of every sale goes back into the community for social development purposes. This lets the people who produce our relish feel empowered and know that they are making a difference.
